This May bank holiday weekend was the opening of the London Fields Brewery ‘beergarden’ season.
Spit roasts and grilled sausages by the Dead Dolls Club are paired with the brewery’s beers with such lovely names as Love not War (me old hippie loves stuff like that) or the Hackney Hopster.
It’s all hidden within one of the Hackney railway arches, which means, the summer season can even be enjoyed in our wet London summers. The beers are very flowery and fresh, the accordion bands fun to watch, the people a nice mix and the relaxed atmosphere reminded me a lot of our Bavarian beer and farm festivals in the country without having to drive home drunk over unlit country paths with my old VW Golf….
We definitely will be spending more of our summer evenings here- You should too!
The brewery’s beers are available to buy bottled too…and if you fancy brewing your own- try this at home:
